Product Guarantee & Care Guidelines
"Ensuring Quality and Durability Through Proper Care"
DMD Interiors Ltd – 10-Year Guarantee
At DMD Interiors Ltd, we take pride in manufacturing high-quality doors designed for durability, strength, and long-term performance. We use premium materials and advanced production techniques to ensure that every door meets the highest industry standards.

To provide our customers with confidence in their purchase, we offer a 10-Year Guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials, ensuring that our doors remain serviceable and fit for purpose under normal residential and commercial use.

Under this guarantee, DMD Interiors Ltd will, at our discretion, repair or replace any door found to be defective within the warranty conditions. However, the warranty does not cover costs related to installation, hanging, painting, transport, glazing, or any other consequential expenses.

Additionally, minor natural variations in wood grain, texture, or colour, as well as slight dimensional changes due to humidity and seasonal conditions, are normal characteristics of timber-based products and are not considered defects.
Care And Handling Instructions
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of our doors, it is essential to follow proper handling, storage, painting, and installation guidelines. Failure to comply with these recommendations may affect the integrity of the door and void the warranty.
1. Storage & Handling
-
Doors must be stored flat and level on a dry, raised surface, away from moisture, damp areas, or direct contact with the ground.

-
A protective cover sheet must be placed on top of stored doors to shield them from direct sunlight, which may cause warping due to uneven drying.

-
Doors must not be exposed to high humidity, excessive moisture, or extreme temperature fluctuations before installation.

-
Freshly plastered, painted, or concreted areas should be adequately ventilated to prevent doors from absorbing excessive moisture.
2. Painting & Finishing
-
Our doors are factory-sealed on both faces with a high-quality UV primer for superior protection.

-
Before applying primer or paint, it is essential to lightly sand the UV-sealed surface using 320-400 grit sandpaper to improve paint adhesion.

-
All four edges and both faces must be sealed with at least two coats of primer/sealer within seven days of arrival on-site to protect against moisture absorption.

-
Dark-colored paints with a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) below 50% are not recommended, as they absorb more heat and may cause door warping or distortion.

-
When using water-based primers in high humidity or cold environments, only thin coats should be applied to prevent excessive water absorption. In colder conditions, solvent-based paints are preferred for a better finish.
3. Installation Guidelines
-
Once on-site, doors must be sealed within seven days on all faces and edges to prevent moisture penetration.

-
Standard doors should be hung using three hinges, while solid core and over-height doors should be hung with four hinges for additional support.

-
Cavity slider doors must have steel reinforcing inserts to ensure they remain straight and do not warp over time.
4. Hardware & Modifications
-
Doors are supplied without pre-drilled holes or hardware fittings to allow for customization based on the specific requirements of each project.

-
Trimming more than 3mm from any edge or cutting vision panels into the door will void the warranty, as it can compromise the structural integrity of the door.
Warranty Terms & Conditions
Our 10-Year Guarantee applies to doors that have been correctly stored, handled, installed, and finished. However, to qualify for a warranty claim, the following conditions must be met:
Inspection & Claims
1. All doors must be inspected upon arrival. Any manufacturing defects must be reported within seven days of receipt and before installation, painting, or modification.
2. Once a door is hung, painted, or altered in any way, it is deemed accepted by the client, and no claims for manufacturing defects can be made.
Environmental Protection & Storage
3. Interior doors must not be installed in areas exposed to direct sunlight, excessive humidity, or moisture.
4. Doors should be stored flat, covered, and elevated in a dry environment, away from damp surfaces or unventilated rooms with fresh concrete or plasterwork.
Sealing & Painting Requirements
5. All doors must be sealed on all four edges and both faces with at least two coats of primer/sealer within seven days of delivery to prevent moisture absorption.

6. Doors must be painted in colors with a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) greater than 50% to minimize heat absorption and prevent warping.
7. A complete paint system must be used, including:
-
Pre-sanding of the door before priming
-
At least two coats of undercoat/primer on all edges and faces
-
At least two topcoats (semi-gloss or stain finishes are recommended)
-
Topcoats should never be applied directly onto the primer—proper undercoating is essential.
Trimming & Alterations
8. Trimming more than 3mm from any edge or modifying the door size beyond its manufactured dimensions will void the warranty.

9. Any cutting that exposes raw materials or removes essential structural components will compromise the integrity of the door and invalidate any claims.
Tolerances & Natural Variations
10. Warping, bowing, or cupping is not considered a defect unless it exceeds:
-
5mm for a 1980mm high door
-
Larger doors have a greater tolerance—refer to our website for exact allowances.

11. Natural variations in color, grain texture, or minor dimensional differences (+/-2mm) are not considered defects, as these are common characteristics of wood-based products.
Moisture Content & Structural Considerations
12. Doors should maintain a moisture content between 8% and 15%. If a door's moisture level falls outside this range due to environmental conditions, DMD Interiors Ltd will not be liable for any resulting defects.
Warranty Exclusions
The DMD Interiors Ltd 10-Year Guarantee does not cover:
-
Improper storage, handling, or installation that leads to damage.
-
Doors that have been altered beyond our recommended limits.
-
Doors installed in wet areas, extreme conditions, or unventilated spaces.
-
Damage caused by improper painting, including failure to use a complete paint system.
-
Warping, bowing, or cupping within acceptable tolerances.
-
Any consequential losses, including installation, painting, transport, freight, or reglazing costs.
The warranty may be void if the above conditions are not met.
